Word of the Day: Tribulation

Great suffering or trouble. In the Bible, there are many tribulations. However, during the end times there is a period of tribulation followed by the Great Tribulation.

Many modern Christians interpret the Bible as predicting the Great Tribulation begins three-and-a-half years into the anti-christ's reign, when the wrath of God is poured out onto an unrepentant world.

Jesus warned of this in Matthew 24:21:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

After this period, Jesus returns to Earth and defeats Satan and begins his thousand year reign. Satan is thrown into the pit, and a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity begins under Christ's control.
